02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We are set up to conserve the remaining native red squirrel population in the Rhins and Luce area of Dumfries and Galloway. We achieve this by controlling the non-native grey squirrel population through trapping and humane dispatch as allowed by law. In addition we raise funds for our activities through applying for grants and selling merchandise on our squirrel stall. We also raise awareness about red squirrel conservation by public engagement and giving educational talks to schools and interested local groups.
