4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 the advancement of health 4.2 to relieve suffering among chronically or terminally ill children 4.3 to relieve despair among the families of chronically or terminally ill children and among bereaved families of those children 4.4 to support families who have a child aged 0-18 years with a life-threatening illness 4.5 the advancement of health and mental wellbeing through offering befriending to those with a chronic or terminal illness 4.6 In furtherance of these purposes the organisation will seek to (A) listen to a family's fears and anxieties (B) help to explain illnesses, diagnoses, and treatments (C) keep a seriously ill child company during hospital stays (D) organise fun activities to help sick children, their brothers and sisters (E) support families through bereavement and grief.'
