Constitutional objectives
The objects of the CIO are: The promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit by: (a) the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of gender (b) advancing education and raising awareness in gender equality (c) conducting or commissioning research on equality and diversity issues and publishing the results to the public. (d) cultivating a sentiment in favour of gender equality (e) obtaining redress for the victims of gender inequality (f) International advocacy of gender equality (g) Providing technical advice to government and others on gender equality (h) Commenting on proposed gender equality legislation. (i)The relief of financial hardship by the provision of free legal advice and assistance to persons who, through lack of means, would otherwise be unable to obtain such advice.
