02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity’s purpose is to benefit the residents of the Hutton community by delivering the aims and objectives. The aims and objectives are primarily: 1) The provision of recreational facilities. 2) The organising of recreational events. 3) To manage and administer the Minsca and Ewe Hill 6 community benefit funding received annually. 4) To take forward projects and events that fit with the aims and objectives and which form part of our community action plan. We do this by: 1) Managing, maintaining, promoting and hiring out Boreland Village Hall. 2) Organising social events – the Board and our social sub group organise regular events. There is currently a monthly bingo night and a monthly Soup & Blether as well as other ad hoc events. We send out a weekly news email to all community households we hold email addresses for (c. 80%) advising of events and other relevant information. 3) Promoting the availability of grants within the community, assessing and considering grant appli

Constitutional objectives
4 The SCIO's purposes are to benefit principally the Hutton community which comprises of the properties listed on the register attached (Appendix 1) ('the Community') with the following objects: 4.1 The distribution of Community Benefit Funds from Windfarm monies and/or funds from other sources within the Hutton Community to undertake projects and/or activities which meet the criteria agreed by the SCIO and the donor and which fall within the SCIO?s other objects. 4.2 The advancement of citizenship and community development, including the advancement of rural regeneration principally within the Community. 4.3 The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. 4.4 The advancement of education. 4.5 The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture and science. 4.6 The advancement of environmental protection or improvement. But only to the extent that the above purposes are consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development.
