02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The main aim is to foster a vibrant and inclusive water sports community. Our racing program demonstrates increased participation culminating in our highly successful Polaris Regatta. We facilitate an array of sailing and non sailing events with a thriving cadet program strengthening community ties providing opportunities for all who share a passion for water sports. A varied range of social activities continue to be supported by our volunteers without whom they would not be possible. We continue to improve our presence in the local community with a visit to a local primary school to promote sailing and water safety. A long-term infrastructure committee is to be set up to address the challenges of the longer-term footprint and infrastructure of the club buildings and land.
