02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to raise funds to refurbish and then reopen and operate The Belmont Cinema in Aberdeen. The Belmont first became a cinema in 1910 and was the city's last independent cinema when it closed in October 2022. It will reopen to offer cinema screenings and other artisitic events and will be a meeting place for wide range of community groups and individuals.

The company's objects are: The advancement of the Arts & Culture and the advancement of Education in furtherance of this by. i) Procuring and operating for the public benefit the Belmont Cinema in the City of Aberdeen ii) Promoting cinema screenings and other artistic events in the Belmont Cinema iii) Promoting education, film making and training iv) Working in partnership with other bodies to achieve the purposes.
