Constitutional objectives

3.1 The charitable purposes of the SCIO ('the Charitable Purposes') are the : - 3.1.1 advancement of education, specifically to promote and integrate the teachings, principles, and ethos of Gandhi into our communities and the wider public. 3.1.2 advancement of human rights, conflict resolution and reconciliation through promoting the ethos of exploring alternative methods of despite resolution or human conflict based on the Gandhi principles of on- Violence, Truthfulness, Tolerance, Religious Acceptance and Cooperation. 3.1.3 advancement of community development through the delivery of activities and initiatives that utilise the teachings of Gandhi, to promote community cohesion and social unity that stimulate tolerance for each other as humans and sustain mutual respect for societal change. 3.1.4 promotion of equality and diversity that utilise the teachings of Gandhi through the delivery of programmes and initiatives that promote inclusion and support disadvantaged groups, particular those who have been excluded from society both economically and socially as well as celebrating the valuing and respecting differences and encouraging and promoting inclusiveness within society.
