Constitutional objectives
5 The SCIO will promote, advance and further charitable purposes by operating as a grant giving charity which will support financially and otherwise individuals, charities, community groups and others which further the purposes detailed at clause 5.1 below and provide public benefit with (a) a primary focus on (i) creating opportunity for those facing barriers in creative industries and (ii) addressing climate change or environmental protection and resilience and (b) a secondary focus on recognising the place of smaller businesses and community enterprises to help met the needs of particular communities. 5.1 In particular for the purposes of the 2005 Act the charitable purposes identified as applicable from section 7 of the 2005 Act are:- 5.1.1 the advancement of the arts, heritage or culture, 5.1.2 the advancement of environmental protection or improvement, and 5.1.3 the advancement of citizenship or community development.
