02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The BLSC aims to improve the health and wellbeing of emergency service workers, healthcare staff, and other public service professionals in Scotland by offering surf therapy programs backed by research. We run activities and training that support mental and physical health, create a safe space for people to talk openly about mental health without judgment, and guide them toward further help if needed. We also support research into how community-based and physical activities can benefit these workers. We have mainly been at a planning and formulation stage through the time of this reporting period.
