02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity provides essential funds to sustain and develop the work carried out by the Stella Maris Educational Foundation (“SMEF”) in Minna, Northern Nigeria. SMEF cares for orphaned and very vulnerable children of all denominations from families blighted by poverty, disease and traumatic experiences including terrorist activity. Our objective is to help these children and young people become independent adults through the power of education, care and all necessary support for the health, wellbeing and development of each child. This charity exists to help ensure that sufficient funds are available for the continuation and improvement of these vital services and that no child in desperate need will be denied essential sanctuary and life enhancing opportunity.
