02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Glenmidge Burn Project was formed into a charity to manage an area of ground bought by the project so that it can advance understanding of environmental protection and improve the ecological diversity on the land. It seeks to engage its membership and the local community in activities in line with its aims which are to increase general understanding of the importance of a healthy ecology, to encourage scientific research on the land it owns sharing its data with other local environmental organisations and to promote environmental awareness in young people and children.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation's purposes are: The advancement of environmental protection and improvement. In furtherance of this charitable purpose the SCIO will: 1. Promote environmental awareness especially in children and young people.
