02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Vivid Roots Collective is a Highland theatre company and Scottish charity. We inspire artists to pursue theatre careers in the Highlands by creating professional opportunities for, and supporting the creative development of, local and emerging theatre-makers. We do this with excellence, working towards a thriving culture of professional performing arts in the region, which reflects the vibrancy of the local area, and invites people to make the Highlands their home. We produce new performances in the region by supporting artists to bring their work to stages. create spaces for artists to make their own work by hosting residencies with Highland venues, scratch performances at our annual festival, and running the Roots Collective. and support the development of early-career artists through workshops, panels, and events for artists to connect, learn, and showcase their work.
