02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Charity was established to provide a safe walkway around the Loch of Ayre in Holm. and this has been achieved. We have also planted many trees and wild flowers, built a bird hide, a bridge over the burn from the Loch to the sea, and provided picnic tables. At present we are in the process of building stone structures to replicate a boat on the found of a boat shed which also reflects the fact that the village was, in days gone by, a herring fishing village.

Constitutional objectives
(a) The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the public in Orkney for whom the facilities and activities at the Loch of Ayre, Holm are primarily intended. (b) The advancement of environmental protection or improvement of the Loch of Ayre, Holm. (c) The advancement of education of the public in Orkney on the range of environmental issues affecting Holm. (d) The advancement of the heritage, including protecting the archaeological heritage of the Loch of Ayre. (e) To advance the Loch of Ayre in any way appropriate relating to the aims.
