02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The charity has been set up to sustain the legacy of Kaya Imaani-Chambers, who passed away at the age of 18 from cancer, providing support to benefit local people in line with our charitable purposes. To help improve the early diagnosis of cancer among children and young people in Glasgow, we will provide financial support to help families to access health scans more quickly when there is a concern about a child's health and/or their symptoms. We want to particularly provide financial support for those individuals and families who would otherwise struggle and/or would be unable to cover the necessary costs. We plan to raise awareness in the local area about the importance of early diagnosis for cancers amongst children and young people. To help improve the cancer survival rates amongst children and young people in Glasgow. We will promote any other purpose that is charitable according to Scots law and continues to legacy of Kaya-Imaani Chambers.
