02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Advancement of environmental protection through the implementation and maintenance of ecological restoration projects to recover ecosystem function and resilience in the landscape, habitat improvement for wildlife, species recovery, and in future education, training and research activities. This will be focussed on Dalnacardoch estate and the restoration of the land through rivers, peatland and woodland. The current focus is on surveying and baselining various ecological factors on the land including tree regeneration transect surveys, insect and weather monitoring. Deer management is also a priority, as the reduction and control of deer numbers is critical in allowing natural regeneration of the land to take place. In addition to this, there are aims to work on conservation of wildlife and public promotion of conservation and wild spaces. m nature restoration and how these can be delivered.

Constitutional objectives
2 Objects 2.1 The Company's objects are, the advancement of environmental protection or improvement by: 2.1.1 the public promotion of the conservation of wildlife and wild places in Scotland and elsewhere. 2.1.2 the implementation and maintenance of ecological restoration projects to recover ecosystem function and resilience in the landscape, habitat improvement for wildlife, species recovery, together with education, training, research and other such activities as may be necessary. 2.1.3 the implementation and maintenance of a breeding centre for species to be reintroduced into the landscape for conservation purposes, research, training and for public education. and 2.1.4 assisting programmes for the conservation of wildlife in any part of the world, in particular (but without limitation) those established by DWCT. 2.2 For the purposes of the Charities Act the following Charitable Purpose is relevant and for the purposes of the Charities Act is the Charitable Purpose identified as applicable from section 7 of the Charities Act:- 2.2.1 the advancement of environmental protection or improvement.
