What the charity exists to do

The charity is set up to attract community benefit funds from on-shore and off-shore energy developers for the benefit of East Lothian as a whole. Grants will be delivered in due course in line with the charitable purposes/

Constitutional objectives

Purposes 4 The organisation is established for charitable purposes only and, in particular, the objects are: 4.1 To advance, for the public benefit, community development including urban and rural regeneration, primarily within East Lothian ('the Area of Benefit'). 4.2 To advance environmental protection and improvement primarily within the Area of Benefit. 4.3 To advance heritage through preserving, for the benefit of the general public, the historical and architectural heritage that may exist in and around the Area of Benefit. 4.4 To prevent or relieve poverty primarily among residents within the Area of Benefit. 4.5 To advance health primarily among residents within the Area of Benefit. 4.6 To relieve those in need, primarily within the Area of Benefit, by reason of ill health, disability, financial disadvantage or some other disadvantage. 4.7 To advance education. 4.8 To support schemes that involve communities primarily within the Area of Benefit working together to promote citizenship and, encourage cohesion between the different communities as well as within the communities themselves in the Area of Benefit.
