02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Edinburgh Giants dedicated to improving health, wellbeing, inclusion and community participation through Wheelchair Rugby League. We provide accessible sporting opportunities for people of all abilities, including disabled and non-disabled participants, enabling individuals to participate in regular physical activity, develop skills, build confidence and improve their physical and mental wellbeing. Our activities are open to adults and young people and are designed to remove barriers to participation in sport, particularly for people who may otherwise have limited opportunities to engage in physical activity. The charity delivers weekly training sessions, development programmes, community engagement activities and is embarking on schools outreach. Through these programmes we create pathways that allow participants to progress from introductory experiences and recreational participation through to regional, national and international competition.
