Constitutional objectives

The organisation’s purposes are to administer grants to local charities, voluntary organisations, community groups and individuals in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, in particular those who are not usually in receipt of regular funding sources, for the following purposes: (a) the relief of poverty by providing financial assistance and support to individuals, families and communities in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire who are in need. (b) Advancing education by funding initiatives, programs, and projects that enhance learning opportunities, skills development, and educational access for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. (c) Advancing community development by providing grants and resources to local charities, voluntary organisations and community groups that work towards improving the social, economic, and environmental well-being of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. (d) Promoting the preservation and protection of health by funding projects and services that improve access to healthcare, promote mental well-being, and address health inequalities within the local community. (e) The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, or other disadvantage, by providing support, assistance, and resources to improve their quality of life and well-being. (f) Advancing citizenship and community cohesion by supporting initiatives that foster inclusion, diversity, equal opportunities and mutual understanding among individuals and communities in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. (g) Advancing the arts, culture, heritage or science by providing funding and support to cultural organisations, artists, and heritage projects that contribute to the enrichment and preservation of Scotland's cultural heritage. (h) Advancing public participation in sport by supporting initiatives that promote access to sports or recreational facilities, training programs, and recreational activities aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life for individuals and communities. and (i) Advancing environmental protection and sustainability by funding projects and initiatives that promote conservation, sustainable living practices, and environmental education within the local community, including efforts to protect and preserve natural habitats, wildlife populations, and promote the welfare and protection of animals.
