02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity has been set up with the intention of eventually setting up local allotments. This is currently held up by local Council and developer that is to gift the land to the allotment committee. We will be a hub for the community that will provide the activity of gardening together.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation has been formed to benefit the community of Culloden West as defined by the postal unit IV2 (“the Community”), with the Purposes listed in clause 5 below (“the Purposes”), to be exercised following the principles of sustainable development (where sustainable development means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs). The organisation’s purposes area) To provide, or help in the provision of, facilities in the interest of social welfare for the recreation and other leisure time activities generally. but specifically to provide or assist in the provision of allotments with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said community generally. but in particular those who have need for such facilities by virtue of their youth, age, infirmity, disability, poverty, social/economic circumstances and overall mental health and wellbeing. b) To advance the education of the community concerning the sciences of agriculture, horticulture and related subjects to promote the value of green space and the environment while fostering an interest in all aspects of the aforesaid subjects. c) To promote community development by encouraging the community to participate and co-operate in the activities of the association and protect the allotments and gardens within the community. d) To advance citizenship and promote volunteering and in particular through encouraging the participation of volunteers in relation to the improvement and maintenance of the allotment area. e) To advance community development and knowledge of horticulture in the locality by organising regular social events. f) To conserve, preserve, protect and improve the land worked on by encouraging environmentally friendly activities. g) To represent the interests of Ordinary Members and gardeners in the community.
