02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Pink Ladies of Argyll is a charity supporting women in rural Argyll and Bute affected by breast cancer - we are the only dedicated breast cancer support charity in our region. Through an annual pampering event and year-round wellbeing activities, it offers connection, therapies including massage and pilates, fitness club membership, regular wellbeing events, bra fitting services and peer support. Run by volunteers and trustees it empowers women to heal together - physically, emotionally, and mentally - with compassion, community, and care. MANAGEMENT OF THE CHARITY/PROJECT In addition to myself as chairperson/founder, we have 10 trustees on board – 7 of whom have had breast cancer. We have no paid staff. The trustees all work together across all elements of fundraising, event organising, volunteer recruitment and workshop collaboration. We hold 6-weekly meetings but have regular communication outwith official meetings.
