02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Govan Graving Docks Trust was established by members of the community in 2024. The Trust is working to bring a large part of the Docks into community ownership and to oversee sensitive redevelopment of the site.

Constitutional objectives
The advancement of heritage and culture by preserving the Govan Graving Docks as a site of historic, cultural and architectural interest. The advancement of citizenship and community development (including urban regeneration) through the provision of services and activities that contribute to the social, cultural and economic regeneration of the Community. The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. Any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes.
