02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity, Your Community Your Space (YCYS), exists to provide safe, inclusive, and sustainable spaces that empower the people of Shortroods and the wider Paisley community. We focus on creating venues and programmes that promote learning, well-being, and social connection, while also ensuring that under-represented groups, including BAME communities, are included and supported. We achieve this through responsible asset management, transparent governance, and safeguarding practices. by delivering activities such as digital learning, youth engagement, and cultural events. and by partnering with councils, funders, and other charities to repurpose under-utilised assets for community benefit. Our goal is to ensure that community spaces remain accessible, trusted, and future-proofed for generations to come.
