02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Banffshire Community Band is a charity set up to bring musicians of all abilities and ages from all over the Banffshire area together to play music, improve mental wellbeing, offer mentoring, knowledge and teaching materials to younger members to learn an instrument and encourage any individual to play an instrument in a group. To provide instruments to individuals who may otherwise not have access to one and to provide music at a suitable level for them to play. To organise regular rehearsals and events for individuals to perform at.

Constitutional objectives
The aim of Banffshire Community Band is to advance the musical participation of wind and percussion musicians. Musicians of all abilities and ages living in the local area will be encouraged to join the band and participate in all aspects of music performance in Banffshire and the surrounding areas.
