02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
• To address the issues of men’s health, physical, emotional and social, • To engage men of all ages 18 to 90 years of age and beyond, • To support the social interaction of men in times of transition, non-judgmentally, • To share, disseminate and preserve the skills, abilities and interests of our members. • Be a place for nurturing friendship and creating a feeling of belonging, • Have developed a positive and co-operative culture among its members, • Meet the needs of members and their families as appropriate, • Be supported by the families of members, • Be a valuable, well connected and respected, community asset, • Have appropriate activities supported by safe working practices, • Have effective partnerships within the community, • Be a place for learning new skills and improving existing ones,

Constitutional objectives
The purpose of the organisation is to provide recreational facilities and advance the social needs, health and well being of men of all ages and backgrounds living in Insch, Leslie and district By: a) Creating, developing and maintaining a facility, namely a Men's Shed. b) Offering opportunities for men in the Insch, Leslie and district area to meet and undertake creative, physical, purposeful and recreational activities of their choice. c) Reducing isolation of men in the area thus contributing to their physical and mental wellbeing. d) Developing the capacity of men in the Insch, Leslie and district area to share their skills and knowledge with others in the community.
