What the charity exists to do

Equal at home works to promote gender equality at home. We equip future generations with the skills to challenge gender stereotypes and we do this by focusing on education and community. Our impact is to build a more inclusive and enriched society.

Constitutional objectives

1 The organisation's purposes are: (a) the promotion of equality and diversity. - to promote more gender equitable households with the objective of improving prevention of domestic violence against women and children. - to enable positive, measurable, equitable social change. - To foster a more gender equal society. - to better equip young people for life, so they can fully enjoy their right to a more gender equal and harmonious community. - (b) the advancement of education. - to equip schools in Scotland and the rest of the UK with educational tools for free, designed to enable young people to learn about gender equality, effect a positive change in attitudes, and lead towards positive changes in behaviour. - to positively change attitudes around gender equality in the classroom, and encourage extending the discussion to families and the wider community. - to provide as many young people as possible with an effective and lasting lesson in gender equality with the goal of achieving a future where a more equitable life at home and beyond is the norm. - to empower young people for a gender equal future by helping pupils to think differently about gender equality in their own homes. - to collect and disseminate information gathered as part of the school programme for the continual improvement and further advancement of the lesson of gender equality. - to support, manage and arrange any demonstrations, exhibitions, lectures, courses and other materials so as to provide and facilitate the education of children about gender equality in the home and its impact.
