02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
In the face of the ongoing climate and ecological emergency, we spent the last year taking direct action to revive natural processes, rebuild native habitats, and drive local biodiversity. Simultaneously, we have strengthened community-based climate action, By expanded access to inclusive green spaces, our programs successfully connected local residents with nature, through hands-on conservation, volunteering and environmental education.

Constitutional objectives
The purposes of the SCIO are:- (i) The advancement of environmental protection or improvement, particularly in relation to climate change and biodiversity through (amongst other things):- a. The restoration, preservation and conservation of the natural environment. b. the restoration, conservation or protection of wildlife in general or of particular species, habitats primarily in Scotland. c. the advancement of education, research and knowledge at all levels and promoting understanding of the role and importance to society of rewilding and biodiversity in the natural environment. and (ii) to promote similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions in such proportions and manner as the Trustees think fit.
