02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Guthrie Heritage SCIO was established to secure the future of Guthrie Church, which it acquired in April 2025. The organisation is dedicated to ensuring the church remains open for worship, community gathering, and heritage exploration. Its work extends beyond preservation, aiming to develop a vibrant centre for engagement, education, and cultural celebration. We do this with the support and collaboration with the global Guthrie community and with the support of local business and community. The Guthrie Heritage Centre will be launched in 2026 to facilitate this ambition. The Guthrie Heritage Centre will offer a place for global Guthrie’s and local communities to celebrate their shared history through photographs, artefacts and storytelling.
