02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Lochbroom Heritage/Dualchas Loch Bhraoin was formed to give the Lochbroom community a means to direct and participate in uncovering their heritage. The organisation’s purposes are the advancement of heritage, culture, and science through: (a) encouraging and participating in research and fieldwork in natural science, history, and archaeology in the Community (b) working with archaeologists to target areas of interest within the Lochbroom area and to engage them to run investigative projects (c) promoting the study of the archaeology, history, and natural history of the Community (d) the investigation of the history, antiquities, and natural history of the Community, and from time to time publishing any records or documents relevant to the objects of the organisation. (e) promoting the preservation of specimens, objects and records of natural scientific, historical, and archaeological interest relating to the Community.
