02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Protecting and preserving our village hall, local church, and associated grounds will benefit our community by providing: • Safe, comfortable meeting spaces which can be used for social, business, and sporting activities. • Surrounding land which can be used by local residents for social, business, and sporting activities. • Assisted funding for the preservation of the local church which is a Grade B historical listed building. • A meeting place for the Committee Council Members. • A venue for local residents to vote. • Business parking for Pettinain and the surrounding areas. • Venues to hold warmer spaces and other community activities that promote care and inclusion. • An opportunity for local residents to “get involved” to support a community-owned facilities for mutual benefit. • Focal points that will encourage and promote a sense of community and togetherness for residents. • Protect and enhance the quality of life for residents.

Constitutional objectives
The Organisation has been formed to benefit the community of Pettinain as defined by the Pettinain Community Council boundaries set by South Lanarkshire Council (the 'Community') with the following purposes (the 'Purposes'): • To advance community development and rural regeneration through the establishment and operation of schemes of a charitable nature. • To provide facilities for recreation and other leisure time activity available to the public at large with a view to improving their conditions of life. • The advancement of environmental protection or improvement by promoting sustainability and biodiversity.
