Constitutional objectives
4. The organisation’s purposes are: a) To support the provision of recreational facilities associated with the West Highland Way long-distance route (“WHW”) including its development, promotion and maintenance, with the object of providing opportunities for healthful enjoyment, active recreation and engagement with nature, thus improving the conditions of life of members of the public who use the route and for local communities associated with it. b) The advancement of environmental protection and improvement with regard to the landscape, habitat and wildlife along the WHW and the promotion of public engagement in, and a wider appreciation of, the natural beauty and ecology of the WHW and its environs. c) The advancement of rural/semi-rural regeneration along the route of the WHW and its environs. d) The advancement of the heritage of the WHW, including the natural, cultural and social history associated with the route.
