02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our vision is ‘To be a band that the community of Nairnshire can be proud of’. We do this by delivering on the following aims: To teach and inspire – offering opportunities for people of all ages to learn piping and drumming To nurture talent – supporting players to develop their skills, whether for enjoyment, performance, or competition. To promote tradition – preserving and celebrating Scottish musical heritage while remaining open to new ideas. To represent Nairnshire – performing not only locally but also at events further afield, showcasing the pride and spirit of our community. To foster friendship and teamwork – creating a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels they belong. To encourage young people – building the next generation of pipers and drummers by providing structured teaching and opportunities to perform

Constitutional objectives
The organisation’s purposes are: To promote piping and drumming in Nairn and Nairnshire. To provide opportunities for adults and young people to participate in piping and drumming through the provision of structured tuition. To advance the heritage and culture of piping and drumming in Nairn and Nairnshire by increasing the number of people who can play traditional instruments.
