02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Adaptive Riders Collective (ARC) is a peer-led charity working to make off-road cycling, outdoor adventure and the opportunities that come with them more accessible to disabled people. We create welcoming, supportive opportunities for people to experience adaptive cycling, develop skills and confidence, and progress towards their own goals – from trying an adaptive cycle for the first time to taking part in challenging rides and multi-day adventures. We do this through regular adaptive cycling sessions, guided rides, events, residential trips and skills development, alongside providing access to specialist adaptive cycles and equipment. We also work with land managers, outdoor organisations and other partners to identify and reduce barriers to participation, improve the accessibility of routes and infrastructure, and share our lived experience and expertise. Our work is shaped and delivered by disabled riders, ensuring lived experience remains at the heart of what we do.

4 The organisation's purposes are: (a) to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to take part in adaptive cycling activities. (b) to support the development of off-road cycling opportunities for people with disabilities. (c) to provide advocacy, guidance and consultation services to organisations who are looking to improve access and provision for people with disabilities to engage with the outdoor environment.
