02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Orkney Nature Festival is set up to promote the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of Orkney’s natural environment and wildlife for the benefit of the public. We do this by organising an annual programme of nature-based events, walks, talks, workshops, educational activities, and community engagement opportunities that encourage people of all ages to connect with nature. Through partnerships with local organisations, volunteers, land managers, and environmental specialists, we help increase awareness of Orkney’s biodiversity, support environmental education, and inspire positive action for the protection and enjoyment of the natural heritage of Orkney.
