Constitutional objectives

The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 The advancement of health through the identification and provision of structured sporting activities that recognise the significant cultural and sporting heritage that these sports provide to communities within Glasgow. 4.2 The advancement of public participation in traditional field sports through access to activities which are facilitated by qualified coaches. These activities shall have a particular focus on Shinty, GAA sports and Association Football. 4.3 The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, through the management of a local centre of excellence. 4.4 To ensure that the designated pitches are protected as Shinty, GAA and Association Football pitches and cannot be turned into other facilities without the express agreement of the respective club. If any of the respective clubs (charities) identified in Clause 9(b) cease to exist, the decision on designated pitch protection will pass to their respective sport’s governing body for their express agreement.
