02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We provide an important link for partially sighted and blind members. Allowing them to engage in all aspects of civil society, namely social, educational and recreational pursuits. We have various speakers and entertainers and go on outings allowing our members to feel they are part of the community and the world at large.

2. OBJECTS The Cumnock & District Blind Club is established for the following charitable objectives.- (a) To promote any charitable objects for the benefit of registered blind and partially sighted members within the Cumnock and Doon Valley community. (b) To provide access to and organize recreational, social, and educational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the members for whom the activities are primarily intended. (c) To promote and organize co-operation in the achievement of the above objects and to that end, bring together individuals engaged in the furtherance of the above objects. (d) To foster a community spirit within the group with the aim of achieving the above objects. (e) To do all other things as will properly attain the above purposes without bias to political or religious belief, race, or gender, and to seek to positively promote equal opportunities.
