What the charity exists to do

The charity supports individuals and organisations whose activities further the advancement of education, citizenship and community development, and the arts, heritage, culture or science. It achieves these aims principally by providing financial support in the form of grants, donations, gifts and, where appropriate, loans or pensions. Support is provided to individuals and organisations whose work or activities are consistent with the charity's purposes. Through this support, the charity enables and encourages projects and activities that contribute to education, community development and participation, and the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture and science. The charity assesses applications and provides support where it considers that this will further its charitable purposes and provide public benefit.
