What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to bring health and social care services closer to the local area and to involve the local community in achieving this aim. This is done by identifying needs where services have been withdrawn due to lack of funding or inability of provision due to remoteness. The local community are engaged in initiatives and projects designed to fill the gaps.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage by in North Berwick Coastal Area by providing, guidance, advocacy or financial assistance 4.2 The provision of support whether by way of financial assistance, advice or otherwise to individuals or groups of individuals who, by reason of health, physical or mental disability or otherwise, are in necessitous circumstances within North Berwick Coastal Area. 4.3 The provision of assistance whether financial or otherwise to other charitable organisations operating in the area whose purpose are in the opinion of the Trustees similar to those outlined in subclauses 4.1,4.2 and 4.4 4.4 undertaking medical research, providing relief to those suffering from illness within North Berwick Coastal Area (*) North Berwick Coastal Area (ward 4) is one of 6 electoral wards in East Lothian Council. The boundary is defined by North Berwick, Dirleton, Gullane, Aberlady and Spittal in the north and Ballencrieff, Drem, East Fortune and Whitekirk and Scoughall in the south.
