02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Promotion of professionalism medical education across UK undergraduate medical school programmes, and in postgraduate healthcare settings too. We achieve this by running biannual conference events, an online journal club, running a website, coordinating a community of educators for networking and professional development purposes.

Constitutional objectives
The purpose of the UK Council for Educators of Medical Professionalism is the advancement of medical education and in furtherance of this, the organisation aims: (a)To be a representative body of leads of medical professionalism education (b)To share good practice in the education of medical professionalism (c)To support research and innovation in the education of medical professionalism (d)To work with other stakeholders to direct national strategic policy and practice relevant to the area of medical professionalism
