Constitutional objectives

1 Kirkcaldy Hive, hereafter referred to as The Hive, is a non-profit distributing company. It shall deliver services in the Kirkcaldy area of Fife and shall draw the membership from the geographical community. The operating area shall be the following Kirkcaldy Ward areas as defined by Fife Council, as amended • Ward 11- Kirkcaldy Centra. and • Ward 12 - Kirkcaldy East 2 The Hive aims to promote health and wellbeing, both physical and mental, through provision of safe, accessible facilities and a wide range of activities targeted to increase and strengthen community cohesion and to respond to identified need in groups and individuals living in the local area including minority groups. In furtherance of this, the company's objects are: - • The provision of recreational facilities and the organization of recreational activities available to the public at large • The promotion of equality and diversity • The advancement of citizenship and community development • The advancement of health and wellbeing, both physical and mental • The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, rural isolation or other disadvantage These aim to improve conditions of life for the persons for whom they are primarily intended. 3 The company's objects are restricted to those set out in Article 1 (but subject to article 4. 4 The company may (subject to first obtaining the consent of statutory bodies) add to, remove, or alter the statement of the company's objects in Article 1. On any occasion when it does so, it must give notice to the registrar of companies and the amendment will not be effective until that notice is registered on the register of companies.
