02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The organisation was set up with the following goals: • to support, educate and coach adults diagnosed on the autism spectrum, focusing on providing them with a set of practical skills necessary to carry out day to day living tasks. • to offer confidence-building and social interaction skills for adults diagnosed on the autism spectrum, to help prevent exacerbation of coexisting conditions, and reduce the risk of further incapacitation through depression and anxiety. The charity runs from premises in Inverness and is managed by staff qualified in supporting individuals diagnosed with ASD. Working with users of the facility a tailor-made support plan specific to their needs is developed and a series of activities / coaching sessions are then implemented over the subsequent weeks to enhance users life experience and encourage them to become more independent.

The organisation’s purposes are: (a) to support, educate and coach adults suffering from a mental health condition or a neurodiversity condition such as autism, ADHD or any other neurodivergent condition, focusing on providing them with a set of practical skills necessary to carry out day to day living tasks. (b) to build confidence and social interaction skills for adults suffering from a mental health condition or a neurodiversity condition such as autism, ADHD or any other neurodivergent condition, to help prevent the development of coexisting mental health conditions, and reduce the risk of further incapacitation through depression and anxiety.
