What the charity exists to do

The James M MacLaren Society was established in 2004 to promote and encourage the development of interest in, and protection of, works by James Marjoribanks MacLaren, pioneer Arts & Crafts architect. The Society holds an annual lecture, in person or online, on some aspect of MacLaren's work or his influence on the work of successors. It also publishes an annual journal of articles regarding MacLaren's work and that of his contemporaries and successors in the Arts & Crafts movement.
