Constitutional objectives

3.1 To promote the prevention or relief of poverty by providing a support network for poverty alleviation, health, education, and disaster relief for members, particularly in Glasgow and its environs through training, relief support, promotion of social enterprise development, and encouragement of Fair-Trade activities. NNIG will work to prevent those who are poor from becoming poorer as well as preventing those who are at risk of being poor from becoming poor 3.2 To promote equality and diversity. through advocacy and campaigning, NNIG will promote activities that will address racial discrimination in employment, education, health, housing, and public services, particularly for its members and the wider community. 3.3 To promote the advancement of the arts, heritage, and culture. NNIG will seek to promote the awareness of the Imo cultures among members in Glasgow while encouraging members to play their full role in British society and will further advance cultural life by promoting Imo history, language, arts, literature, and culture to the wider public 3.4 To promote the advancement of health and social well-being through workshops, promoting social interaction and mental support to children and families, and elderly experiencing isolation and Mental Health issues due to health, age, and physical or family circumstances. 3.5 To promote the advancement of education. NNIG will promote activities for empowerment and skill development by organizing training and workshops that will provide opportunities for career development for its members and the entire community
