02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity is set up to support community development and social inclusion in Dirleton and the surrounding rural communities, with a particular focus on supporting an ageing population and promoting the wellbeing of the wider community. We do this by organising regular community markets which provide an opportunity for local people to come together, meet others and participate in community life. The markets also provide free pitches for local charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations, enabling them to raise funds, promote their activities and connect with members of the local community. Through these regular events, we aim to reduce social isolation, encourage community participation and create opportunities for local organisations and residents to connect and support one another.

Each market will offer free pitches for local charities, community groups or not-for-profits to give them the opportunity to raise funds and meet the public.
