02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Carnbroe Community Action for Residents was established to care for and improve our local greenspaces while bringing people together to build a stronger, more connected community. Our aim is to make Carnbroe cleaner, safer, greener and more welcoming for everyone. We work to enhance local facilities and open spaces, reduce social isolation, promote wellbeing and create inclusive opportunities for residents of all ages to meet, learn, volunteer and take part in community life. We achieve this by listening to local people, understanding their priorities and turning their ideas into practical action. In partnership with volunteers, community groups, schools, businesses, funders and public services, we organise events and seasonal activities, maintain and develop shared spaces, support environmental projects and provide useful equipment and resources. We secure grants and donations, manage funds responsibly and reinvest them in projects that deliver lasting benefits for Carnbroe.
