02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Maryfield United Community Charity is dedicated to improving lives and strengthening communities across Dundee, particularly in the Coldside and Maryfield areas. We use football, sport, education and community activities to tackle poverty, social isolation and inequality while promoting physical and mental wellbeing. We provide affordable and inclusive football opportunities, school breakfast clubs, lunchtime and after-school activities, holiday programmes, girls' football and youth development initiatives. Our Football Memories programme also supports older people and care home residents, helping reduce loneliness and encourage social connections. Working closely with schools, local organisations, volunteers and community partners, we create safe, welcoming environments where people of all ages and abilities can participate, develop confidence, learn new skills and feel part of their community.
