Constitutional objectives

Clause 5 The Organisation’s main purpose is consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development. The Organisation’s Purposes are: Clause 5.1 The advancement of public participation in sports: The Club will advance the sports of lawn tennis and any other sports and recreational activities which may be played and developed within the available space. Clause 5.2 The provision and organisation of recreational activities: To ensure the continued provision of a physical space for community sports use through the maintenance and/or development of the tennis courts and any other land under our auspices. The Club will provide opportunities for members and, on occasion, non-members to participate in social and competitive sport. The Club will maintain its land and property to a high standard, befitting its setting in the conservation area of Strathaven. In time, The Club aims to make the courts available on a “Pay-to-Play” basis, to play its part in making Strathaven an attractive destination for day-trippers and holiday makers.
