Constitutional objectives

The Organisation has been formed for the public benefit of the Community of South Cowal as defined by the following postcode units: PA23 7UD, PA23 7UB,PA23 7UG, PA23 7UR, PA23 7UP, PA23 7UE, PA23 7UA, PA23 7SW, PA23 7SU, PA23 7SX, PA23 7ST, PA23 7UJ, PA23 7TB, PA23 7SS, PA23 7TF, PA23 7HB, PA23 7SF, PA23 7SR, PA23 7TQ, PA23 7TS, PA23 7SL, PA23 7SP, PA23 7SN, PA23 7SY, PA23 7TR, PA23 7UL, PA23 7SH, PA23 7TA, PA23 7SJ, PA23 7TP, PA23 7TH, PA23 7TE, PA23 7RQ, PA23 7SG, PA23 7SE, PA23 7TJ, PA23 7SD, PA23 7RF, PA23 7SZ, PA23 7SB, PA23 7RY, PA23 7TL, PA23 7TG, PA23 7TN, PA23 7SA, PA23 7QA, PA23 7TD, PA23 7QN, PA23 7QL, PA23 7QZ, PA23 7QD, PA23 7QB, PA23 7UN, (“the Community”), with the Purposes listed in Clause 5 below(“the Purposes”), to be exercised following the principles of sustainable development (where sustainable development means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs). 5. The Organisation’s main purpose is consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development. The Organisation’s Purposes are: Any lawful activities that are consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development in the South Cowal area as defined in Clause 4. The SCIO’s charitable purposes are set out below. 5.1 The prevention or relief of poverty. 5.2 The advancement of education. 5.3 The advancement of citizenship or community development. 5.4 The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science. 5.5 The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, including the advancement public participation in sport. 5.6 The advancement of environmental protection or improvement.
