02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Becoming a charity strengthening accountability and supporting long-term ambitions. Opening a decicated Teaching Apiary and facilities. Delivering Beginners Course at the Apiary, supporting the next generation of beekeepers ensuring it remains accessible, practical, and inspiring. Expanded educational outreach to primary and secondary schools reaching over 1,200 young people — sharing knowledge about honey bees, pollination, biodiversity, and food production. Expanded our presence within the wider community attended more shows than ever before, increasing our visibility and engagement. Delivery of a season of well attended winter lectures providing members with valuable learning opportunities. We are actively sought further funding opportunities for the Honey House project which will bring this project to life.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation is a non-profit distributing charity whose principal objectives to promote, protect, maintain, improve and disseminate the science and art of Apiculture. In furtherance of the above, the organisation will undertake the following: a) The advancement of education by enabling existing beekeepers to further and to share their knowledge in all aspects of beekeeping, by support in those aspiring to become beekeepers and by engaging with schools, local organisations, community groups and the public at large and facilitating and supporting achievement of formal qualifications in beekeeping. b) To increase awareness of the implications of internal and external factors on all pollinators.
