Constitutional objectives

4 The organisation’s charitable purposes are to support people from adversely racialised communities who menstruate through: a) The prevention and relief of poverty through combating menstrual poverty, in particular within adversely racialised communities, especially where menstruation is considered “taboo” and, as a result, there is considerable stigma surrounding the topic. We seek to ensure individuals from adversely racialised community backgrounds, who are traditionally more disadvantaged when compared to their peers in society, have access to the appropriate products in order to help them have dignified experiences through their menstrual cycle, and manage their menstrual health with confidence and ultimately flourishing in all aspects of their lives without limitations. b) The advancement of education through the offer of a transformative approach to facilitate learning and education in adversely racialised communities about menstrual health. This will cover everything from the onset of menstruation (menarche) to menopause, in an inclusive and engaging learning environment fostering open dialogue about menstruation, which is often considered taboo in many cultures. As a result, it is not often openly spoken nor educated appropriately to deal with their menstrual health. Our educational model is grounded in co-production, trauma-informed practices, and cultural sensitivity, prioritising a safe and respectful environment that honours individual experiences and backgrounds. c) The advancement of environmental protection or improvement through the promotion of reusable menstrual products and supporting people from adversely racialised communities to create their own reusable pads through artistic education, empowering individuals to take control of their menstrual health whilst doing their part to reduce pollution and also minimise waste. We will also seek to engage with external charities that focus on environmental awareness with a view to organising workshops / talks for our beneficiaries on practical ways that they can reduce their respective carbon footprints.
