Constitutional objectives

The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 The advancement of public participation in sport in the community of Newton Stewart and the surrounding area And in furtherance of above it shall do the following: 4.1.1 Maintain and manage the golf course and clubhouse at Newton Stewart 4.1.2 Work together with other agencies including Scottish Golf to promote and develop the sport of golf within the region 4.1.3 Provide affordable membership for all who wish to partake in the game of golf and promote golf for Juniors as a valuable community amenity 4.2 To provide and enhance golf and recreational facilities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities and organisational activities are intended, and to do so in a way that provides for players: 4.2.1 of all standards in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere 4.2.2 without discrimination on the grounds of gender, age, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation or disability 4.3 To develop and improve golf skills, especially Juniors, by providing: 4.3.1 coaching in golf for beginners and for improvement for experienced players 4.3.2 school open days 4.3.3 ‘Welcome to Golf’ community days 4.4 To provide affordable hire of/access (including disabled) to the club’s facilities and equipment for the community and in doing so facilitate opportunities for 4.4.1 a variety of groups (including disabled) to meet 4.4.2 social functions 4.4.2 public services (e.g. Polling Station) 4.4.3 emergency services (e.g. defibrillator station)
